Walker SOUP is a micro-granting event that allocates funding to community projects in a simple and democratic way.
Community members attend a quarterly event, where a donation on the door buys them food, activities and games for the kids, drinks and a VOTE. They hear 4, 4 minute verbal pitches from organisations or individuals with good ideas for Walker, and vote on the one they think will benefit the area the most. The winner of the ballot takes 100% of the entry donations to fund their project.
There’s no need to be a registered charity or organisation – grassroots groups and individuals are encouraged to apply. Walker SOUP supports all groups and individuals every step of the way, and are committed to assisting pitchers in securing additional/alternative funding and support.
